My goal as a doctor at Sanitas is to help make every patient’s day better. It’s a great day when I make a connection with a patient and their family. I listen to their concerns and, together, we form a care plan. It’s satisfying to me when patients come back and I see that they’ve made efforts to better their health based on our plan. Born in Ndola, Zambia, I grew up in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe). As a child, looked up to the doctors and nurses in our area and saw the enormous need to be educated, especially in the healthcare field. I chose medicine with the hope of making meaningful and impactful contributions to the well-being of all. We’ve lived in the Orlando area since 1991 when we came for my husband’s career and better education for our sons. Growing a primary care office broadened my perspective in the process. I’ve also mentored many young Floridians aspiring to enter the world of medicine. When I take off my coat, I buy fresh fruits and vegetables, then prepare a healthy and balanced meal for my family. I practice what I preach, so exercise is important for me as well. I read medical journals and watch science, history and travel-related topics on TV. On the weekends, you’ll find me in the garden or at a community event.
