As a nurse practitioner (NP) at Sanitas, I make sure my patients receive optimal care and treat them with dignity, listening to what matters most to them and prioritizing it in a healing environment. Hardships are prevalent for many patients, yet they don’t have to endure them alone. A good day at work means I’ve helped patients learn how to be in control of their health and to feel empowered. I was born in New York City, grew up in New Jersey, and now Florida is my home. With parents from Puerto Rico and Peru, I learned Spanish and English, but prefer to communicate in English. I decided on a medical career to achieve my twin goals of supporting people when they are most vulnerable and to be part of the solution for an overburdened medical system. I performed health screenings in Guatemala on hundreds of Indigenous Mayan children and their parents, and realized the urgent need for NPs in providing care and health education at an advanced nursing level. When I’m not working, I love to read and I enjoy watching sunsets and playing on Florida's beautiful beaches.
