As a nurse practitioner at Sanitas, my goal is to help determine ways to improve a patient’s health or help guide chronic condition management. I do this with compassion and communication. I try to reserve time for questions and answers so that patients can share their feelings, and I start each day with positive thought and a grateful heart. Caring for others has always been one of my priorities. I spend time with people so we can learn from one another. I chose the medical field because people typically value their health above all else. When someone is sick or injured, life is disrupted. They share their deepest concerns with their doctors in hopes of being healed. For me, to be trusted to this extent is an honor. I was born in Bayamo, a small town in eastern Cuba. I had a very happy childhood. I practiced as a family doctor in Venezuela and then moved to the U.S. and became a nurse practitioner. Florida is full of opportunities, so when I’m not at work, I like to explore new things, spend time with family, watch movies and go to the beach.
