As a behavioral health counselor, I provide tools and hope to those struggling with life challenges. Bilingual, I provide individual counseling in either Spanish or English. Wanting to make a difference and help people create positive changes in their lives, I help patients build strong and healthier relationships, find emotional stability, increase positive thoughts and eliminate negative beliefs, and to learn to view life from different perspectives. It’s a good day at work when I can connect with my patients, and they feel comfortable talking with me as if we’ve known each other for years. Some patients say that they can't believe they are able to share so much information; that I made it so easy for the first time. What works for me is being present with an open heart. Growing up in the Dominican Republic, my parents immigrated to the U.S. with the hope of giving their children a better future. I lived in New York City for 14 years and now my home is in Orlando. My interest in psychology and human behavior during my undergraduate work led me to pursue a degree in mental health counseling. I’ve worked in diverse settings in the mental health field, including an alternative school, public schools, and in a variety of mental health therapy centers. Spending time with my family is a very important aspect of my life––and I’ve raised three wonderful children. I also like to work out, practice yoga, travel and cook.
