I was born and raised in Havana, Cuba where I studied medicine and completed my residency in nephrology. I worked in Cuba for many years before I immigrated to Chile with my family. While in Chile I continued my medical career in nephrology and expanded my expertise to include intensive care medicine. My family has since relocated to Miami, Florida where we are happy to call home. My native language is Spanish, but upon moving to the United States I also learned to speak English fluently. Being bilingual helps me connect better with my diverse range of patients. I decided to go into medicine because of my interest in health sciences and desire to positively impact the lives of others. Healthcare gives me the unique opportunity to pursue both passions and it’s a privilege that I never take for granted. A good day at work for me is when I can observe how my patient’s health progresses positively. Seeing this improvement is extremely rewarding since connecting with my patients is important to me. I want you to know that at Sanitas we provide focused care to prevent and treat disease through wellness education, offering excellent healthy modes and lifestyles for all patients.  When I take off my coat, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also enjoy playing with my dogs and practicing Pilates in my free time.
