I like being a nurse practitioner at Sanitas. It’s the perfect place for me to focus on preventing illness, managing disease and improving the quality of life for the patients I see. I enjoy interacting with each and every person–– helping them recover or improve their health. We develop a game plan to better manage their diagnosis. It makes my day when a patient tells me, “Thank you for helping me. I feel better now that I’ve talked with you.” Born and raised in Cuba, I now call Florida my home. I came to the U.S. by participating in a parole program for Cuban doctors. Since graduating in 1999, I studied to become a family nurse practitioner because I enjoy helping people, and I feel they should be treated with patience and respect. In my free time, I love to read books, watch medical programs and study new cases.
