At Sanitas, I’m dedicated to my patients’ well-being and work with them to find solutions to their ailments and help them understand disease prevention. It’s an enjoyable workday when I get to talk with them and listen to their concerns. It’s great to see patients in better health when they return for follow-up visits. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, my family moved to Puerto Rico when I was 10, and I learned Spanish and English while living in San Juan. As a child, I took interest in learning the causes of diseases and how to prevent them so pursuing a medical career was my goal. With the growing insecurity in Haiti, I moved to Miami and studied for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), returned to Puerto Rico for a residency in internal medicine, then finished my residency in family medicine in New York. Relaxation, meditation, a good book and spending time with family are important to keep a balance in life. On my days off, I practice yoga to help me relax. I enjoy my garden and dancing class, particularly Argentinian tango.
